This is a small market that has the essentials focusing on Asian foods and specifically Vietnamese foods. It is well lit and clean and carries a wide array of food and products. They also have a food to go and BBQ meat counter. Fresh veggies, meat, and seafood are also available. I picked up some dry tapioca shards, sago pearls along with dried peanuts so I can make my favorite Vietnamese Che. Prices are very reasonable. The parking lot has Tesla superchargers. Parking may get difficult at peak hours. It is located in a center with many shops so it's nice to stroll around and see what they offer also. Service is good. Please come and create your own adventure.

This market is on the smaller side, but it has a little more than just the essentials. Conveniently located right off the freeway exit. Friendly folks to help you and warm greetings as you check out, which is not always common at the markets. It doesn't smell like rotting fish. The place is small and clean. Check it out if you're nearby.

Learned something yesterday: having the word 'Sunrise' in the name of a market or restaurant doesn't mean it's Filipino. We needed to pick up some lumpia wrappers for a Christmas Party, and instead of stopping by our regular place, we wanted to stop by someplace on the way home from Santa Ana with easy access to the highway. Searching for Filipino groceries, Sunrise Supermarket came up so redirected our GPS there. There was plenty of space in the large parking lot. But as soon as we saw the large sign, I realized it was a Vietnamese grocery store (which makes a lot of sense considering where we were). It's not a particularly large store, but is stocked with all the essentials. There is a lot of whole fish being displayed in open displays, so wouldn't be the place to go for folks that can't stand the smell of fish. We were able to find a Vietnamese brand that could stand in as Lumpia wrappers, and picked up a lot of other snacks and vegetables since we were here, including garlic flavor corn nuts (which my wife said she likes...who knew?). It was easy to checkout (they take credit cards) and quick. Ended up being a productive stop. I know the first sentence of my review is silly, but honestly that's the way I was thinking.

It's been almost six years since my first review for this market - Sunrise Supermarket remains one of my favorite Asian supermarkets to shop at. What I like about it is the smaller footprint - as mentioned in my previous review, this store used to be a Fresh and Easy - which also had the smaller market format, but still managed to carry everything you need. Over the years, I find myself coming here instead of the bigger Asian supermarkets located in the busier areas of Little Saigon (which comes with more denser parking lots). Sunrise has for the most part, everything I would be looking for including fresh produce and a staffed butcher shop. Foot traffic is lighter even on the weekends. On my most recent visit, I picked up two bottles of the chinese herbal cough syrup - Pei Pa Koa, some snacks, and fresh papaya. I like that their papaya here is pre-sliced for you, and the seeds are removed. Parking lot is getting busier simply because this lot has a row of Tesla superchargers. Overall still, one of my favorite Asian grocery stores in the area.

What a wonderful adventure this was at this supermarket, imagine that! The produce was incredible, the prepared food section was quite interesting and the choices of rice and wraps was amazing. Picked up delicious lychee fruits, rambutans, and some baby bananas. I'd be back tomorrow for more fruit if this market was closer to home. Also got some wonderful spring roll wraps that are just the right size. Saw many types of snack foods and oh, the noodle assortment was mind blowing. Sounds crazy, I know, I just love going into ethnic supermarkets, probably because I just love to eat! Check this place out if you happen to be in the area. Parking is easy. Folks working here are very kind and helpful, too!
